Manager - Incentives Compliance

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are pleased to be expanding our team with the addition of a qualified and motivated individual to join as BLS’s Incentives Compliance Manager.  The Incentives Compliance Manager will oversee the Company’s portfolio of incentive compliance engagements which includes a large number of companies over multiple states and municipalities throughout the United States.  They will take a lead role in communication with senior client representatives and state compliance officers and will be responsible for coordinating, organizing and implementing all aspects of the compliance process.  The Incentives Compliance Manager will work with other internal BLS resources and assist the Company in identifying, hiring and training new resources.

The ideal candidates will have had a minimum of 3 or more years of experience as well as excellent communications and interpersonal skills. He/she must bring a high degree of integrity and the ability to treat sensitive information confidentially and professionally.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact for senior client representatives and state compliance personnel.
  • Create and maintain a reporting calendar to manage deadlines for timely data collection, review and submission
  • Coordinate with client to secure all required data and documentation as dictated by incentive agreements
  • Review and analyze employment, investment and tax data using MS Excel and other reporting database programs as required
  • Organize and reconcile large amounts of data to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Review data for discrepancies among systems to ensure back-end data matches client-facing data
  • Conduct appropriate checks / controls to validate the accuracy and completeness of reports
  • Follow through on data quality issues to ensure they are addressed reliably and in a timely manner
  • Assist in maintaining data lineage allowing users to trace data reliably to the point of origin and pinpoint any quality problems in the data pipelines
  • Recommend improvements to methodologies, deliverables and compliance management.
  •  Serve as a knowledgeable resource to colleagues and clients.
  • Develop peer relationships with clients and state compliance officers.
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business administration, economics, statistics or mathematics is required.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience, including familiarity and understanding of economic development incentives is preferred
  • Advanced Excel and Acrobat Adobe skills required 
  • Experience with client communication
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Proficiency with organizational, time process and deadline management skills
LOCATION

Biggins Lacy Shapiro & Company is headquartered in downtown Princeton, NJ with offices in multiple markets throughout the US including Hoboken, NJ.

Our preference is to staff this role in either our Princeton or Hoboken, New Jersey office. However, for candidates who may be unable to relocate and who bring the skills and experience to confidently work independently, we also will consider full or partial remote working.
