Manager - Site Selection & Incentives Advisory

We are pleased to be expanding our team with the addition of one or more qualified and motivated individuals to join as  Consulting Manager, to serve as engagement lead on diverse and exciting projects, and as the day-to-day point of contact for many of the firm’s most significant clients. He/she is accountable for project design, schedules, budgets and deliverables. Consulting Managers also pursue business development opportunities, refine firm-wide analysis/research methodologies, tools and resources and coaches and develop junior colleagues.  

The ideal candidates will have had 5 or more years of increasingly responsible analytical and project management experience as well as excellent communications and interpersonal skills.  He/she must bring a high degree of integrity and the ability to treat sensitive information confidentially and professionally.

  • Serve as day-to-day point-of-contact for client engagements. 
  • Customize strategic approach to complex and diverse projects. 
  • Supervise teams of junior colleagues and external resources. 
  • Conduct own customized research for some work streams.
  • Manage the production of deliverables and presentations.
  • Play a central role in economic development incentives negotiations and approvals.
  • Establish and be accountable for  project plans and budgets. 
  • Recommend improvements to methodologies, deliverables and engagement management.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource to colleagues and clients.
  • Develop peer relationships with clients and economic development colleagues.
  • Play significant role in new business development, ranging from networking to preparation of proposals. 
  • Participate in industry and professional organizations and gatherings as appropriate.
  • Pursue professional and personal development opportunities to continuously improve performance and contribute to the firm’s knowledgebase. 
  • Help coach and develop less experienced staff members. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, statistics or mathematics is required.
  • Master's Degree (MBA, Master of Public Administration, etc.) is preferred. 
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience, including first-hand knowledge of location decision-making methodologies and economic development incentives processes. 
  • Experience with real estate development and finance also is valuable. 
  • Confident ability with Microsoft Office, especially strong facility with Excel.

Biggins Lacy Shapiro & Company is headquartered in picturesque downtown Princeton, NJ, surrounded by the region's most desirable restaurants and amenities. Our location is comfortably commutable in the New York and Philadelphia metro areas.  

Our preference is to staff this role in our New Jersey office. However, for candidates who may be unable to relocate and who bring the skills and experience to confidently work independently, we also will consider hosting this position virtually or in our Midwestern hub in Chicago.
