This week Eli Lilly and Company announced the upcoming expansion of its site in Lebanon, Indiana, a project part of the state's cutting-edge "Innovation Development District" program to attract life sciences and tech companies.
The BLS & Co. team was privileged to support Lilly on this groundbreaking project starting with initial legislation creating the Innovation Development District and through the final negotiation of the TIF and related incentives.
The new manufacturing facility will focus on expanding Lilly's drug substance capabilities, including small and large molecule active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and gene therapy manufacturing. The new expansion will bring in over $1.6 billion in new investment and an additional 200 jobs, bringing the total project to $3.7 billion in announced acquisition and 700 new jobs.
Congratulations to Eli Lilly and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, who partnered with Lilly to make this expansion possible.
